The Karl Ehmer Story

For over 90 years, the name Karl Ehmer has been synonymous with sausages and traditional German Fare. The Karl Ehmer Story begins with our first opening in 1932 Karl Ehmer started with a small store on 46th Street and Second Avenue in NYC. By the mid-1940’s Karl Ehmer opened a manufacturing facility in Ridgewood, NY and grew his one location into six retail locations.

Fast forward to 1970 and Karl Ehmer had expanded even further, opening 30 Karl Ehmer Quality Meat stores all across the Tri-State area. When asked about the uniqueness of his operations and products Karl Ehmer said “ First we produce a high quality product. We make no attempt to be competitive in price with mass manufactured lines. Our products are made to recipes developed many years ago, which results in distinctive flacors that our customers have come to expect.” By the late 1970’s, Karl Ehmer had added retail locations in Florida, Pennsylvania, and Upstate New York.

Now in its fourth generation, the Karl Ehmer brand remains a staple for those with a discerning palate and affinity towards the highest quality products.
